Woods Hole MA – dormitory
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution houses traveling researchers and oceanographers from around the world for 3-4 month stays.
The building is new construction with a modern interior design concept tells the story of conservation and includes community kitchens and dormitory rooms. The design reflects an open concept with elements including custom plywood cabinetry, seaweed brown walls, and a centerpiece communal dining table accented with bright orange recycled Emeco chairs made by taking Coca-Cola bottles out of landfills and “upcycling” them into iconic structural items, made to last.
